Flags

I'm really not sure what I think about having the national flag in a Chapel / Church... particularly in the Sanctuary.
Like, to be honest, I'm not entirely comfortable with the Vatican Flag being in the Sanctuary.

Perhaps, as in maybe, have the Vatican flag at the back of the Church.
But your national flag? I really don't know.
It's a good reminder to pray for your country, I guess.

But, like, countries rise and fall.
Only the Body of Christ lives and reigns forever.
Christus vincit, Christus regnat, Christus imperat!

Then again, maybe it only grates against me because it's not something I often see in li'l Australia.

(from the USofA) Personally, I am opposed to flags in the sanctuary on a regular basis. It is one thing to have them for Masses for war dead, veterans, or those currently serving in the military, as well as national feasts.

I've heard there's a law in the U.S. that if you fly another flag, you have to fly the American flag as well, but I can't find a cite. Could be just tradition.
